Can you put a disk brake assembly on a rim that has a drum assembly?

That's very complicated question to answer...
There are many factors that have to do with "yes" or "no".

What bike?, what rim, swing arm, brake pedal position/layout, room for extra parts etc.

Generally, unless there is a ready kit in the market for the bike in question, it doesn't worth the money or the effort.
