Motorcycle Repair: 550 maxim starter clutch removal

Will the starter drive clutch assy come out without splitting cases? From the left behind stator?

From what I can see on the Schematic.
It looks like it should be removable by removing the nut on the
shaft assembly. If you like Ican send you a Complete Yamaha Parts Manual
