Car Stereos: New Rear Car Speakers no Bass or vocal, infinity kappa speakers, kia spectra

I had a new kenwood deck and infinity kappa speakers installed on my 02 kia spectra hatchback. The front speakers work wonderfully but the back speakers sound shallow, no bass, little vocals but what you can hear sounds distorted. Everything appears to be hooked up correctly and the tech who installed it says he didn't hear any problems with them. Please help

Issues to check out with the Infinity kappas are the wires being installed backwards, as that will make the audio sound very hollow.

Other possibilities are the crossover being hooked up wrong (if your particular model has one), and the simple things like the settings on the deck.
