Motorcycle Repair: bike exhaust, honda vt1100 shadow, aftermarket pipes

Question
Hello. recently  purchased 1986 shadow 1100, has  a set of loud pipes on it. found some stockers on  ebay, but american issue.
Im in canada. It looks like something resembling a cat converter funtioning as  a crossover bettween the mufflers.
I havent seen the stock mufflers. will these  fit on my bike , and not interfere with the centrestand?
thanks,Frank

Answer
Hi Frank,

Your bike had pipes on each side rather than the later one sided exhaust system.
It can be converted with aftermarket pipes or you can fit the older unit
as well. The crossover "can" will clear the centerstand if installed
as stock. The following pictures and links should give you
some ideas:

Another alternative depending on the pipes you have are
measuring the pipe and getting some baffles to insert
and lower the noise.
Look here for those:

That may be the easiest and most inexpensive route.
