Motorcycle Repair: 97 honda 300 atv carb, stator, spark plug

rebuilt carb and at idle it sputters and dies if i shake it. pulled carb off 3-times cleaned and cleaned. same results. what did i do wrong?

Ron, Try rechecking the carb. Make sure all jetting circuits are clean. Set the float by turning the carb sideways with top of the carb on the left and the bottom on the right. Make sure the hinge for the float needle is up and float is parallel with the carb top and set the mix screw at about 2 turns out from all the way in. Make sure all carb linkage is working and put back where it belongs. Put in a fresh spark plug and try again. If it still sputters under acceleration in may be electrical in the CDI or stator.
