Motorcycle Repair: Front end damage, frame jig, frame tubes

Question
Someone pulled out in front of me and I hit her car broadside, the entire front end of my shovelhead was destroyed. The insurance company says my scooter can be fixed. How can I tell if the frame is bent, there is no chipping or flaking on the neck or frame tubes but the fork tubes are twisted and its hard to tell if everything is straight. How do I measure to see if everything with the frame is still true?

Answer
Its pretty much impossible to tell if a frame has been tweeked from an accident. You would have to find somebody with a frame jig to check it. A frame can take a pretty hard hit befor bending and usually a front end hit, like what you had, will not damage the frame. the forks take the damage
Good luck and happy riding
