RV Repair: Electrical problems, 12 volt accessories, coachman santara

Question
I have a 1998 Coachman Santara.  I left the radio on and the battery that runs the 12 volt things went dead.  I needed to start the generator so I hooked my jumpbox to the battery but I reversed the polarities.  Since then I cannot run anything in the rv that would normally run off that battery.  I have tried to trace the problem but I do not have a diagram of it and I am a bit lost.  My second question if about the generator.  I ca start it up but I am not getting any power out of it.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Mike,

Does this MH have battery disconnects on it?  If so you may have damaged it when you reversed polarity.  Depending on what type of disconnect it is it may have fuses on it.  It is usually located under the hood or near the battery (Under the step, battery box, etc.)  When you plug the power cord in do the 12 volt accessories work off the converter?  If so check to see if you are getting voltage to the battery to charge it.
As for the power from the generator it is probably one of two problems.  Either the breaker on the generator is tripped or the automatic transfer switch has quit working.
