Motorcycle Repair: 1997 dyna lowrider, vent tube, pressure tube

QUESTION: why is the tube on my transmission pumping out oil (i think its an over pressure tube )it was rode a week prior and didnt do it

ANSWER: That tube is a vent tube. How much oil is coming out and have you changed your transmission oil lately?

QUESTION: i rode it about 10 miles the other day and noticed the leak when i got back home i checked the dip stick i had lost about a 1/4 of a quart or more i did change the fluid but i had riden since no leaks went on vacation for a week got home and went for a ride and here we are

Answer
The only reason that there would be oil coming out the vent tube would be that the tranny was overfilled. There is nothing there to pump it out. When you changed your oil did you fill it and check it when the bike was level or on the stand? You should be doing it level
