Motorcycle Repair: 2009 Kawasaki Ninja 250r Rpm Troubles, kawasaki ninja 250r, speed down

Question
QUESTION: Hi, My name is Bob

I got my 2009 Kawasaki Ninja 250r in august and didn't have much riding in the fall. Now that its a lot warmer I am riding a little more. Today I noticed something In traffic my rpm gradually increased as I was at the same speed as the engine got warmer. 40MPh at 4.5 turned in 40MPh at 5.5k. Just a few minutes ago I checked the idle rpm and its seems fine 1.3k. I also turned the handlebars left and right not difference in RPM. This is bugging me please help if anyone can thanks.

Also, it has about 1,900 miles and recently got a basic service. Fluids checked, chain lubed, brake pads replaced, test driven, and all around checked.

The dealer said everything was fine. Unfortunately when i got back on the road the problem occurred again. This begins to happen about 20 minutes into the ride and on warm days it happens very quick.

I have done some research online and have some information that the 09 ninjas are known for this problem. There seems to be a problem with the CDI Box. I don't want to take it back to the dealer if i don't have to.

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Thank You,
Bob

ANSWER: Bob. It sounds also that the carbs might be running lean. Slow the idle speed down a little the back the mixture screws out about 1 more turn. If the engine starts to smooth out it may increase in RPM again slow it down and try to set it about 1000 rpm. If the mixture screws have'nt been adjusted the plugs may be over the end so the avg owner wont mess with them.

QUESTION: Do you recommend I go back to the dealer and have a mechanic do it for me? I am not very knowledgeable about bikes since this is my first one.

Thanks,
Bob

Answer
Bob, Try explaining the problem to the tech and tell him that they did work on it and its still not right. They may give you a break and look at it again for a reduced amount but I would think they would make it right and not charge you unless its something new.
