Motorcycle Repair: oil leak, tiny cylinders, yamaha yzf 600

Question
I have a 1997 yamaha yzf-600. I came home one day to find that the bike was sitting a pool of oil. Just about all of it had leaked out. When I tried to find the leak, it seemed to be coming out of the generator housing. I took that apart and pulled out the generator, which was covered in oil. It seemed to be coming from behind it. However, I also had an unusually stiff clutch, and it would sometimes refuse to engage the clutch. I took apart that to find a great deal of greasy buildup and pieces of what looked like multiple, tiny cylinders, each split into two. I am unsure if the two are related. There are no cracks on the engine or transmission, and from inspecting the gaskets they seem to be intact and not leaking. I am wondering if those pieces in the clutch were holding a gasket in place, which i now assume is missing and that caused the oil to leak out and pool in the generator housing. Any help on this would be much appreciated, and I thank you for taking the time to read my question.

Answer
Robert, Sometimes the generator will have a little oil in but the sound drastic. Look up your bike on a parts look up sight like "powersportspro.com" at should give you a breakdown of the systems and an approximate price for the parts. Its possible that the crank seal is bad and letting the oil build up in this area and drain out when parked.
