QUESTION: I have this bike 4 years now and loved it, part time rider, battery is 10 month old, always on charger if I am not ride, it started to have a problem about 2 weeks now, 12.8 V at start up, rode it about 20 miles at all speeds, when I stop and engine off for 15 minute it will not start and voltage dropped to 11.8 V. Please help, if there are something that I need to checks please let me know and how to fix it.
Thank you very much for your help and have a great day.

ANSWER: Joe, try a couple of things first. Have the battery load tested with the engine off to see if the battery might have a bad cell. Also check the voltage output at the battery terminals with the bike off then running at idle then rev the bike to about 2500-3000 rpm and see if it in creases to about 13.6 volts. If it doesnt increase while running you may have a charging system failure coming.

QUESTION: Thank you Gary, very helpful advise, I found some loose and dirty connection after cleaned with fine grit sand paper and electronic cleaning solvent, it worked out great, now I need your expertise advise again, I did replaced stock air filters with K & N, new spark plugs ready to ride for summer, but it sounded like starving for fuel while riding it, how do I adjust it? and where is the screws? 2002 suzuki marauder VZ800 V twin.
Thank you very much for your help. Have a great week.

Answer
Joe, The K&N filters breath alot easier and you may need to increse the fuel jetting a little to compliment the new air flow. You may need to go up about 2 sizes on the pilot jets and 2 sizes on the main jets but go down 1 notch on the slide needle which will raise the mid range a little. This should get you closer to being in the ball park.
