Motorcycle Repair: FUEL GAUAGE ADJUSTMENT, fuel gauge, gage

Hi Mike

Got a '85 FLHTC and my fuel gauge is out of wack.
I fill it up and it READS 1/2 FULL.

Can you tell me exactly what to do in order to get an accurate
reading on my gas gauge please.

Answer
You are either having trouble with the sending unit or the gage. You can remove the sending unit and test the sending unit by moving the lever and checking voltage going out of the unit. the voltage should increase as you move the float
