Motorcycle Repair: Switch replacement, 1974 honda cb360, disc brake components

Question
I need to replace my 1974 Honda cb360 right side handlebar switch.Hard to come by,I've found a 1975 Honda 750 switch.Are they interchangeable?Thanks

Answer
John, well the problem is that the 1974 bikes (first year editions) used a switch with an On-Off provision to turn the headlights off, if desired.  The part number for this switch is:
35300-369-740.  There is one on Ebay now for $150 OBO with 2 offers on it now.

From 1975, ALL Honda's street bikes were required to use a "auto-ON" headlight system, with a switch that can only be toggled to Hi-Low, not OFF.

You will may have to do some rewiring to get the same function using the -377-P00 switches used on the CB400F and also the 550-750s from that era. The 1975 CB400Fs used a lot of the front end components from the CB360T series machines, using the disc brake components.

This one may work:

In general the difference between CB and CL models is the length of the wiring harness due to the higher handlebars on the Scramblers.  Ask the seller to describe the wire ends and number of wires to see if they match yours now.
