Motorcycle Repair: engine light, harley road king, sensers

good afternoon
i have a 2004 harley road king custom.It has approximately 12000 miles on the bike...last week the engine light came on about 60 mph...it stayed until i throttled back....i continued riding for another 200 miles with no problems but the light would come on periodically...also went up to around 80 mph passing someone .light came on but went off again when i slowed down...the bike was idling fine and i had no problem starting it when i got gas....i do live out of the country so the bike is not rode everyday....had nothing done prior except for a front wheeel change.....thanks in advance   darrell

Heres what you are going to have to do. Your bike has alot of sensers to control the motor fuction. When a check engine light comes on then that means there is a problem with a senser. The problem is which one. With a Harley, just like a car, you have to have a dianostic run on it so you know what the problem is. If you dont, you will be changing sensers until you hit the right one
