Motorcycle Repair: speedometer light globe, speedometer cable, globe thanks

Dear Bill,

I have a 1997 250cc Honda Rebel. The other night I was on the way home in the dark and my speedometer light blew. Today I took the chrome cover off and the speedometer cable off but don't quite know where to go from there, I couldn't see where the globe fits in. Can you please help me to know how to access the blown globe? Thanks a lot Bill.

Dennis, these bikes use a tiny wedge base bulb. Follow the wiring into the base of the meter and gently pull the bulb holder out from the meter. Pull the bulb directly out, don't try to twist it out for removal. Should be a brown wire or brown with white stripe. Might as well check them all while you are in there.
