Question
QUESTION: Please tell me the easiest way to remove the Hand grip & throttle sleeve from my 2001 honda shadow 600 1" handlebars...I want replace the handlebars with 1" drag bars. Any advice will help. thanks Moe

ANSWER: Moe check the mounts first then the throttle, tube it may be set up for 7/8" bars.If you go to the larger dia. bars just cut thre grips with a razor knife. If you dont want to change the throttle tube check out some bars that are 1" dia. all the way out to the grip area and downsize to 7/8. The risers that hold the bars are upsized to hold the larger bars.

QUESTION: So I cant slide the grip & throttle tube off to reuse on the new drag bar...is this correct? I thought there might be a way to remove & reuse without damage to the grip or throttlr tubing.
Moe

Answer
Moe, Take the screws out of the switch housing next to the throttle tube.Lift the top of the switch carefully and expose the throttle cables and unhook the cable ends and the tube will slide off the bar. The left grip can be worked off if you slip a small ice pick or screwdriver between bar and grip. Spray a little WD40 in side grip and work pick around bar to break adhesive loose, twist grip around and work in loose also. The switch housing may need to be removed also to gain access to the end of the grip.
