Motorcycle Repair: Blowing master fuse while ridding, honda cbr900rr fireblade, stator windings

Question
Hi im a new bike owner. I have had nothing but problems with my 94 CBR 900 RR. I just had the motor rebuilt at Honda, I replaced my rectifier, battery, stator wires. When I go down the road my bike looses power and dies. Its like if I hit the stop run button. As I was looking around my stator wires are super hot! Is this normal? My main fuse blows every few minutes! What would cause it to just blow after I ride for about 20, 30 minutes?

Answer
Brock, what accessories do you have on the bike? Did you convert to some kind of hi-intensity headlight bulb setup? It the stator wires are overheating, either the output is not being regulated or the stator windings are grounded out.

If your fuse holder has overheated, you may have to replace it, as the heating damages the fuse holder contacts.

Test the charging system output with a volt meter. It shouldn't go over 14.5v.  See troubleshooting charts on the above website.
