Motorcycle Repair: safety switch, oil pressure switch, honda vt1100

Question
I have a 2000 model honda vt1100-c3. the bike starts fine, but kills when you put it in gear. This has something to do with an electrical switch. This just started. no clutch, engine, trans problems. i tghink this switch will be inside the motor. I would like to find the wires and bypass this switch

Thanks
Larry

Answer
Hi Larry,

If it is the neutral switch causing
this problem then you can
just take the one light green/red wire off of it
and the neutral light should go out.
35600-KE8-003    SWITCH ASSY., NEUTRAL (TOYO)

It is located on the bottom left side
of the engine on the left side of the oil
pressure switch which is blue/red.

You will not be able to start in neutral
with the neutral switch disabled.

If that doesn't work then it might
be a problem with the clutch switch
or the 3 way diode in the fuse box.

Last resort might be stuck clutch plates.

Good luck!
