Motorcycle Repair: IS MY HARLEY MOTOR CEASED ?, plug holes, flt

Hi Mike

You've help me so much in the past and before I ask you anything about my 1984 FLT H-D

I wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH.

O.K. Mike

I haven't started my bike in about 4yrs. do to serious illness. But I thank GOD I'm O.K. now.

I live in Las Vegas where is gets BURNING in the Summer. Why I say that is maybe just maybe the little oil that was left in the bike all that time didn't CEASED-up the engine.

Here what I want to know and what I did. My bike is way up on an engine lift. I put the bike in 1st gear and manually turned the rear wheel. I turned about 4 or 5 inches and then STOPPED.

I ran all the gears and the wheel turned but a few inches at a time but the wheel made the 360 turn.

Question(s)

Mike do you think the engine is O.K. to start ?

If the pistons are CEASED what can I do to BREAK the seal on the pistols without taking the motor apart ?

Is there something I can put in the spark plug holes to break the seal if the motor is CEASED ?

When you turned it over did you remove the spark plugs? A bike is really hard to turn over in 1st gear so put it in high gear and you should be able to roll it over without the plugs. You can try to start it and if its ceased it just wont work. You wount hurt anything.
