Motorcycle Repair: Hard to start my 1984 Honda V65 Magna, honda v65 magna, 1984 honda v65 magna

Question
I just purchased this bike about two weeks ago. It just have over 21,000 miles.  The last few days its been hard to start! It seems to still have strong starting, like it's still got the power required to start. I'm kind of thinking maybe fuel deprivation? When it's doing that I check to see if the spark plug wires are okay then turn the fuel knob on and off. After doing all that and waiting a bit it will start.  Once it's started, I do not notice any problems with it when I'm driving it. No backfires no power loss, no hesitation?  Any ideas on what I can check on would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Im not sure what to tell you. This may be a fuel problem and that the fuel pump may not be powering up when you turn on the key. It sounds like it runs when the bike is started, this may point to the fuel pump relay that powers it up prior to starting the shuts off untill the bike is started and oil pressure builds then it keeps the fuel pump on. Try checking the time that its on and pressure that it operates at.
