Motorcycle Repair: ticking or knocking on 2005 road king, cam case, cam chain

QUESTION: I HAVE A 2005 ROAD KING THAT HAS A KNOCK OR A TICK ON DEACCELERATION  ITS NOT A TRUE DUAL EXHAUST BUT RIGHT SIDE IS DARKER. THE NOISE SOUNDS LIKE ITS COMING FROM FRONT JUG.

ANSWER: is that the only time yuo here it?

QUESTION: NOT REALLY BUT. THAT IS WHEN I HEAR IT MOST, AND MORE SO AFTER IT IS WARMED UP. THE BIKE HAS 18640 MILES ON IT. IT SEEMS TO RUN FINE BUT DONT REALLY CARE TO RUN IT TILL I KNOW SOMETHING MORE ABOUT IT. IT IS MY FIRST TWIN CAM. MAYBE SHOULD OF KEPT MY OLD SHOVELHEAD

Answer
There are a couple of things I can think of. One is a lifter tick which wont hurt anything, just a pain.
The other is a cam chain tensioner. Keep an ear on it and if it gets noisier then you are going to have to do an inspection of the cam case.
