Motorcycle Repair: 2000 Softtail; cracked oil pan, oil tank, softtail

QUESTION: Do you know of any factory issues or why the oil pan would crack on a 2000 Heritage Softtail?

ANSWER: If you are refering to the oil tank, where did it crack?

QUESTION: No, the oil pan at the forward end, bottom of engine.  It has an allen head plug on it

you must be refering to the bottom end of the motor because your bike does not have an oil pan iy has a oil tank just below the seat. I have never seen a case crack there and the factory did not have any problems with that year
