Motorcycle Repair: 81 CB750C carbs, cb750 honda, cb750c

Question
Hello,I recently decided that I had the knowledge to perform a carb rebuild on my 81 cb750 honda. I got them off, cleaned, and put back on without much problem. Before rebuild I had a slight backfire (crackle) but otherwise it ran great. Now the idle and drive are extremely ruff and if I pull the chock open it stalls. Any ideas? I would hate to have to take to the shop not knowing and loose an arm and leg in repair bills. Thanks for you time.

Answer
Sometime when the carbs are removed the syncronization is lost. Find the misture screws and at idle start backing them out from the seated position.  One could be out at much as 2 1/2 turns while another might only be 1 1/4. Then borrow a sync gauge and dial the carbs in to flow a vaccum pull equally this will smooth it out so it will accelerate without the cough and sputter. The choke really is an enrichener crcuit that allow extra fuel to be sucked into the intake aiding in cold starts.
