Motorcycle Repair: Replacing Hand Controls, brake cables, accellerator

Question
I'm wanting to replace my hand grips on my 2009 Sportster. It appears to be a fairly simple job. My main concern is dealing with the accellerator and brake cables. Any easy tips? I just don't want to pay $70-80 to have this done. Thanks

Answer
If you are just replacing the grips you dont have to do anything to the brake cable. As to the throttle cable you just have to remove the old grip and install the new one with the cables attached to it like you took the cables off. Its pretty cut and dry.
Good luck and happy riding
