can hydraulic lifters bleed themselfs over time or do you have to bleed them

Answer
Hydraulic lifters indeed 'self-adjust' and do not ever need adjustment or bleeding.  Change your oil regularly and you will never need to touch them.  Sometimes a lifter will get stuck, and then there will be a fairly loud ticking sound coming from the engine.  This only typically happens in engines that have not had their oil changed at the correct intervals.  Good luck,  Jan
