Motorcycle Repair: ignition wires hot, loose wire, good luck

i have a 2001 1200 sporster.  the ignition wires get hot and the bike will not start.  I have replaced the coil, and ignition module.  what would make the ignition wires get hot

You have a short in the wiring. You will have to check the wires coming from the battery to the ignition. If you dont find anything there you will then have to trace the wiring from the switch. You need to look for a loose wire or a wire touching metal.
