Motorcycle Repair: loading up?, stock cam, performance cam

Question
QUESTION: 1986 1340 FXR s & s E carb,python pipes

This bike set for years [2900 miles]before I bought it last year and I have put 3k miles on it with only minor trash related stutters which have been taken care of.

Had an upper end gasket job done last month and replaced the High Performance Cam with a stock cam due to pitting on the shaft.

Bike is now running rough if taken into town and run at low speeds and once it has "loaded up" while at highway speeds.Either way it seems to clear itself up.

Help!!!!

ANSWER: Pull your plugs and let me know what color they are when you say it loads up

QUESTION: Mike, the front plug is tan and back plug is white but it had cleared up for the last mile to the house.

Thanks for replying.

Answer
You need to rejet your carb, since you have gone from a high lift cam to a stock cam. If you need to know how to rejet the carb, go to S&S web site and at the tech pages you will find the instructions on how to do this
Good luck and happy riding
