Motorcycle Repair: (Lock?) Nut size needed, ace hardware stores, honda cb350

Question
I have a '72 Honda CB350. Ok, this sounds silly, but I can't seem to find the size nut that I need. Somehow during the replacement of my clutch, I managed to "misplace" the nut needed for the main clutch adjustment at the case end. Trying to find the measurements for screws, bolts, nuts, etc. seems near impossible. I have someone coming over to get the adjustments right, but I forgot I don't have this nut. He may be able to tell me, but if I can go out and buy it before he gets here, it will save a lot of trouble. I just thought I would check here and see if you happened to know.

Thank you for your time!

Answer
Sara, Well usually the dimensions on most common nuts are coded into the part number system.

I assume you need: #11 on http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cb350-super-sport-350-k3-us_model432/partslist/E++10.... illustration.

Interestingly enough it is the same part number as the rocker arm adjustment lock nut. 90011-286-000. The washer next to it is an 8mm size, so we can assume that the nut is 8mm.

The most common thread pitch for Honda motorcycles in 8mm is 1.25. So, check with your dealer or Ace Hardware stores to find a 8mm x 1.25 nut. Hopefully, Honda didn't decide to use an unusual thread pitch on that nut with the model specific part number....
