Motorcycle Repair: 1974 superglide fxe, punp, oil tank

i am getting ready to change the oil tank on my 74 superglide.will i need to prime the oil pump when i install the new one?and if so how do i do it,and is there anything else i should be aware of when doing this?

You will already have oil in the punp so you wont have to prime it. After installing the oil tank and putting oil in it, let the bike sit for about 1/2 hour so the air will bleed out of the main feed line and your good to go.
