Motorcycle Repair: Carburetor, havock, flht

Question
I own a 1983 HD FLHT 1340cc.  How do I know if my carburetor needs rebuilt or anything?  What should I watch for or listen for or feel for?

Answer
The only time you need to rebuild your carb is if the bike is not running correctly and you have checked everything else. If its bogging really bad the jets int he carb may be plugged. Then you would need to rebuild it. The only other time is if the carb starts leaking.
