Motorcycle Repair: 1999 S&S 113ci engine clack, rod bearings, main bearing

Question
I have a very loud "clack" in my motor. You can hear it at idle and it gets VERY loud when I throttle up, and mostly goes away when un throttle it. I can't tell if its coming from the lower end or the cylinder. Any ideas?

Answer
I would start by checking the cam bearing, cam and the lifter rollers. One of these bearing might have gone out. If that is not the problem then you need to check the left and right main bearing and then check the rod bearings
Good luck and happy riding
