Motorcycle Repair: Primary Removal, careful removal, best bet

Question
Mike,
I am new to Harleys, but wrench quite often. 1992 FXR , the bolt holding on the kickstand broke halfway into the tube. Nut on the top side. I can see no way of cutting the nut off without removing the primary cases.I am thinking careful removal of all gears and belts to do this, but was wondering if there are any tricks or flying springs to worry about when I reove the cover. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Answer
When you remove the primary cover, there is nothing that will fly out. Make sure you drain it first, however.
Your best bet would be to get a service manual to follow, it has great pics and steps to follow to remove the primary and inner primary.
Happy new year
