Answer
Marcus... the runaway idle speed is probably from a sticking spark advancer. Remove the points plate and check the function of the mechanical advance weights and springs. Once that is clean and lubricated, then you can reset the point gap and timing to the F mark (points just opening). Do check the throttle cable for broken strands that might hold the slides open and cable routing, so you don't have the throttle pulling the slide up when the handlebars are pushed to full lock on left and right sides. Look for signs of sticking carb slides and air leaks at the intake manifold connections to head and carburetors.

Cut the plug wire leads back to clean solid wire and check your spark plug caps for excessive resistance. Should read out about 5k ohms off the wire. Check primary wiring resistance (small coil wires) to read out about 4.5 ohms.

Be sure that the carburetors are clean and the slides are in the correct carburetors. Cutaways on the lower slide edges go towards the air filters.
