QUESTION: How do you prime the oil pump on a '69 Sportster XLCH?

ANSWER: Has the oil pump been removed and is it dry?

QUESTION: Yes. I took it apart and replaced the gaskets when I overhauled the engine.

Answer
St the fitting where the oil goes into the oil pump squirt some oil in there till it run out. Connect your hose and fill the oil tank and let it sit for about a hour. That will get the air out of the line and you should be fine
