Motorcycle Repair: gear allignment, harley sportster 1200, pinion gear

Hello,I was troubleshooting a problem with starting, while doing this I removed the gear cover and I managed to get some of the gears out of place,what would be the correct procedure( marking alignment) to reinstall these gears, 1d,3d,4d are completely off and 2d is still affixed to the gear cover it is a 1998 Harley sportster 1200 thank you hope to hear from you soon.

Answer
Put the gears back in their holes. Looking at the gears you will see marks on them. they have to line up and the main gear has to line up with the mark on the pinion gear.
Go to www.sportster.org/tech/quad88/  and go to picture 12 and you will see a pic of the marks
