Motorcycle Repair: Heat Management, fuel management system, management question

Question
QUESTION: Mike,
I recently purchased a 10 screaming eagle ultra classic.  The heat coming off the right side actually turns our skin red.  HD dealer suggests slip on mufflers and fuel management system as the solution.  Please let me know your thoughts and what components I need to consider to correct the issue.  If mufflers are part of the answer, I am looking for something relatively quiet (promise to passenger).  If fuel management is needed what type (open/closed loop)and brand (your 06 post indicated Cobra).  Last part, do I need to do anything with the breather.  It's a shame I need to do this with the most expensive HD production unit on the market.
Thanks for your time and suggestions.  Tim

ANSWER: Couple of questions. Is your bike still under warrenty? Have you make any changes to the bike? Pull your plugs and let me know what color they are

QUESTION: Hi Mike,
Thank you for the quick reply and my apology for my tardy response.  To answer your questions, yes the bike is still under warranty (2010 Screaming Eagle Ultra Classic purchased about two months ago and current mileage is just over 1500.  The front cylinder plug is dark at the tip and the gaping bar turns white as it travels toward the plug base.  The rear plug is white and both are dry.

Answer
If your bike is that hot, I would start by making the dealership repair it, not adding anything. its under warrenty and it should be right so you can ride it. and not cost you anything.
If you want to replace the mufflers, I would check around and listen to other bikes and see what they are running for mufflers. What I like in sound might not be what you like. If you change the mufflers then I would change the air cleaner so the bike will breath better. Since you are changing the mufflers then you would need a download from the dealership. You would have to see what they do for fuel management. they have to have the programing to set what is installed. Most use the Power Commander
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
