Motorcycle Repair: 1982 CB450SC Nighthawk, throttle assembly, gas tank

Question
I recently snapped the throttlw cable off of my 1982 CB450SC Nighthawk and I ordered a part and I got it in perfect condition. I was wondering how to remove and replace this part correctly. Thanks

Answer
Hi Matt,

I've never worked on a Nighthawk 450 before, so I'm not 100% sure.
I do know that you will have to remove the throttle from the handle bars and it should come apart in two half's. The throttle cable will need to be removed from the throttle assembly.
You will probably have to remove the gas tank, as the cable usually gets routed under the tank. Once you trace it back to the carbs, it should be pretty strait forward how the cable is mounted to the throttle assembly.
Sorry I couldn't be more specific. However, if you don't have a shop manual, then I'd recommend getting one. Its a 'must have' for preforming any work on your bike.

Thanks,
