Motorcycle Repair: return cable 81 fx, throttle assembly, brass knob

return cable broken. how do i repair it?

Loosen the adjusters on both cables so there is slack in the cables. Remove the air cleaner and backplate, then the carb. Take the throttle cable out of the carb and then the idle cable. Go to the throttle assembly. Remove the bolts covering the cables and on the throttle you will see the cables held on with a brass knob on the end of the cable. remove it from the throttle and under the assembly unscrew the cable. Install the new one and put it back together in reverse order and your set
