Motorcycle Repair: 1995 suzi, air leaks, throttle cable

Hello. i have a 1995 suzi rf 900cc. when i start it, the idle goes up very high and the idle screw is backed all the way off.Do you have any ideas on what it could be.

It is normal for the idle to go up high when you start the bike cold and if the choke is on.
If the idle is high when you start the bike warm or if when the choke is off, then there is a problem. If this is the case, then I would look for possible air leaks around the intake boots (both engine and air box side). I would also look to see if the throttle cable is too tight, causing it to pull a bit, which raises the engine revs.
