Motorcycle Repair: 1982 cb750sc nighthawk, cb750c, oem replacement

Question
Hi, I know this isn't your preferred year but would you by any chance know if any of the year, size and/or model nonda carbs would fit my 1982 cb750sc Nighthawk. Someone tried extracting one of the jets out and somehow broke the whole piece off, and I was wondering if maybe I could upgrade to possible better carbs or use any other because I'm having a hard time finding a used OEM replacement at a good price. I got the bike a few days ago and I'm just starting on a winter project.

Anything will help.
Thank you.

Andre.

Answer
Hi Andre,

The '82 nighthawk takes a VB42A  carb. They came on the 1979-1982 CB750K and on the 1980-1982 CB750C as well as the 1982-1983 CB750SC. The CB750F came with VB42B [C] carbs, which will fit but are likely jetted different. The VB42A  carbs have a 68 primary main jet and a 102 secondary main jet. The 1979 CB750F VB42B [C] had a 68 primary and a 98 secondary. The 1980 CB750F had a 68 primary and a 100 secondary. The CB750 C had the same jets as the K and SC.

Hope this helps?
