Motorcycle Repair: 1999 yamaha r6 electrical problem, amp fuse, ground wires

Question
Hey,

I recently replaced my spark plugs.  When I put the bike back together the electrical wouldn't work.  Everything from gauges, head and tail lights, turn signals, and horn.  The bike still starts and runs but no electrical.  The 20 amp fuse keeps blowing in the signal housing.  I checked for ground wires but still couldn't find anything.  Is it a circuit board or some thing?

Answer
Hi Tyler,

It sounds like something was missed or not put back correctly when you re-assembled the bike.
The fact that you keep blowing fuses indicates that you either have a bad ground or something is not connected correctly. You stated that you already checked for grounds and that is ok.
So, I would go through every connector and fuse...take disconnect them, spray with electric contact cleaner and reconnect them.
This exercise will get you to inspect all the wiring and you might come across the problem.
