Motorcycle Repair: Oil + Push rods, cam bearings, pressure gage

Question
QUESTION: I have an EVO 1340 from 85, I had a problem with a bearing which disintegrated and damage my E-27 cam. I have changed the cam, bearings, push rods now, cleaned the pump and took out all the broken rollers .... Now when I fire the engine, I still have the click and when I check the push roads one of them still dry (the front end cyl.)!
ANY HELP WITH THIS WOULD BE GREAT AND THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR ALL OF YOU HELP AND TIME.

ANSWER: Did you clean the screen in the oil pump for the lifters? Also, when you started it, how long did you let it run?

QUESTION: Hi Mike, thanks for your reply, I let run the engine enough time I think (more then 5 min.), the three other push rods are well lubricated. I have changed the small filter in the oil pump and checked all, I feel their is not enough hi pressure to make the lubrication of the 4th push rod. Where it could come from ? Also, The red light for the oil stay on ...

Answer
If you oil light is staying on, then you dont have enough oil pressure. You need to get a pressure gage and check your oil pressure first. If you dont have any pressure then there is somthing wrong with the oil pump. You would have to pull the pump and check the clearence between the gears and pump body. If you dont have oil pressure your lifters will not pump up
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
