Motorcycle Repair: back fire, screaming eagles, steady speed

Question
Mike ,i own a 2006 fhltc .I've installed a set of rinehards mufflers on it.Since then i have a problem with back fire al low steady speed when releasing the gas and stalling at cold couple times until warm up . I talk to the dealer and told me i need a bigger air filter(still got the original)and re-map the computer .But to to the job right i still need to change the mufflers to screaming eagles.Because of extended waranty do i really have to do it all?

Answer
Youn dont need to go to a bigger air filter, but I would recommend it. It will let your bike breath better. You do need a remapp, since adding the pipes. What has happened is you have made the motor a little leaner which would cause the backfiring. However, you dont need to change the pipes to Screaming Eagles. It sounds like they are just trying to sell you somthing
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
