QUESTION:  The clutches semed to slide on ok reason I replaced the clutch hub was the studs had grooves where the clutches moved thinking that was the problem. did not change steel disk check worpage and burn marks but were fine. measurement from release disc to pressure plate edge ( doesthat mean nut side or spring side) on preasure plate edge tried both ways was 1 1/32 and then turned nut half turn at a time and tried still wants to grab. do you soak disk in oil cause I did not do that. would it hurt to do so on dry clutch.

Answer
No, you dont soak the disks. They are dry clutches. You do your mesurement from the back of the plate at the edge to the front of the other plate. Since everything slides ok and its still grabbing, try skuffing the clutch disks with some sand paper and backing off on the nuts about 1/2 turn
Good luck and happy riding
