Motorcycle Repair: venture carbs, yamaha venture royale, star venture

I have a 1992 Yamaha Venture 1300cc and can't find/buy new Carbs for it. Have you heard of retofitting the newer star venture 1300cc carbs to fit mine? The set-up looks virutally the same if I had a complete set with brackets &ect. what ya think?

I'm not too familiar with the Yamaha Venture. I did check the part number for your carbs and it looks like the carbs on your Venture were used on the following:

1988 Yamaha VENTURE
1988 Yamaha VENTURE ROYALE
1989 Yamaha VENTURE ROYALE
1990 Yamaha VENTURE ROYALE
1991 Yamaha VENTURE ROYALE
1992 Yamaha VENTURE ROYALE
1993 Yamaha VENTURE ROYALE

What is wrong with the original carbs?
