Motorcycle Repair: Virago, performance clutch, yamaha 750

Question
QUESTION: I have a '82 Yamaha 920 Virago a Friend wants to sell his power-lacking '88 Yamaha 750 Virago, can I swap jugs and pistons from the 920 onto the 750 or do a complete motor swap? The 920 has a lot of power but several other issues not motor related, the 750 is a good runner but no power.

ANSWER: You can not just swap the jugs and pistons.  You would have to  convert it, but that requires alot of fabrication.

QUESTION: Since converting the 750 to a 920 is so much work, how can I get more power out of the 750? When I road the bike it was more like riding a 350 not a 750. I have ridden 600s with more gusto. Thanks!!!!

Answer
First, do a compression check to see how much compression you have and then you can always bump up that engine by oversizing the cylinder by getting bigger pistons. You could also high performance clutch as well.  Getting power out of a bike is limitless!! It just depends on how much money you want to spend on it!
