How do i get rid of this flat spot ? thankyou

ANSWER: I need a little more info Richard...

Are you using stock or aftermarket exhaust, same question about your air box , or air cleaners...

did the problem exist before the carbs were overhauled?  Are your intake boots all in good shape..?

Have you done anything with the timing ?

thanks

QUESTION: All items on the bike are stock and boots are in good shape, new air filter, new plugs, gapped to proper specs, timing is dead on, the problem existed from day one since we bought the bike new. the timing is set to manufacturers specs as well, all work has been done by the kawasaki dealership except for the carbs which has just been overhauled to like new condition and have been synced as well.

Answer
This is a tough one...if the bike has done this since new and the dealer has no ideas....It may be the way the bike was designed...you may have to experiment with some different jetting, possibly in the slide cutaway area...I might look at the timing advance curve and compare that to factory spec..a lazy curve can give you lag in your acceleration...ideally it would be nice to find someone with a bike like yours and see if theirs does the same thing ....

What does the dealer have to say...I assume that you have brought this to their attention?

I wish I had a more definitive answer for you..you may wish to repost this question to someone with a little more expertise in metric bikes...Most of my experience is with the British bikes

thank you
