Motorcycle Repair: 2002 suzuki volusia 805cc carb repair, 2002 suzuki volusia, pilot jet
Suzuki Carburetor
I just purchased a 2002 volusia that would only run with the choke on, but poor to no acceleration. The bike has been sitting for about 2 years unfortunately with old gas in tank. I removed the carburetor to clean it and followed my manual that came with it. Unfortunately, the picture and description were wrong for drilling out the plug for the adjuster. Instead, the description was to drill out what appeared to be a brass straight piece with a small hole next to the power jet and jet holder. I had removed the power jet and holder and the pilot jet, but drilled approximately 1/32 into this "pipe" with a 1/8" drill bit. There is a tiny hole through this pipe. No problem getting cleaner through it, my main concern is that I have ruined the carburetor as I have NO IDEA what this piece is! It appears that this piece is not made into the carburetor casting, but I'm not 100% sure. If you can help, you would save me a lot of "grief". If you look at the breakdown illustration of the carb for the 2002 volusia vl800, the piece is not very well represented. It sits next to #62 (jet holder) and #64 pilot jet. Also, not all of the parts listed for #12 through #17 were in the assembly. Is it possible not all carbs had all the same parts?
Thank you for your time. BTW, we did replace the fuel, cleaned out the tank and lines, replaced the spark plugs and changed the engine oil and filter. Thank you very much for your time!

Answer
It sounds like you unfortuneately are going to need a new carb.  EBay is a good place to check.  You might be able to just buy the carb body.  By the looks of the diagram you sent the carb is cast around it.  That's why it isn't represented well on the diagram.  I hope this helps.
