Motorcycle Repair: 1995 Honda shadow ace vt 1100c2, honda shadow ace, safety switch

Question
I washed my bike and now it won't stay running.  It will not start when on the kickstand in neutral.  When sitting on the bike in the upright position it will fire, but the slightest wiggle shuts it off.  If it will stay on long enough to attempt to rid it backsires and spits and sputters

  Sounds to me like you got water in your safety switch or switches.  You should have a switch on your sidestand, that is most likely the culprit....

  Here is what I would try...leave your bike out in the sun and let it dry for half  a day( water will naturally evaporate).  Or...use some compressed air and blow the switch out good , or both...once your water logged shadow dries out , it should run fine.....

  Food for thought.....if washing it causes this problem and it can be narrowed down to your sidestand safety switch, you may wish to replace it...because...if you get caught in the rain , you may end up stranded somewhere...
