Motorcycle Repair: Fuel cut off relay, honda vt750c, wiring connections

Question
Hey Bill, I'm back again. Still working on that 83 Honda vt750c Shadow. I replaced the fuel cut off switch and the bike fired up (temporarily) then died. Once again no spark to the plugs. I checked the wiring and couldn't find a short. Any idea what could be wrong? Two relays shot. Are these relays like tip over switches?

Answer
The fuel system and ignition systems are pretty much independent of each other, other than the fuel relay turns on with the ignition switch in the ON position.

No spark is a separate issue. There is a sidestand switch that needs to be checked. If the sidestand is down, it kills the ignition, at least when you put it in gear.

If that is not an issue, then you want to be checking the pulser coils/wiring connections, then the KILL switch and if all of that seems good, the spark module may have died or is dying.

Check the base of the ignition switch to ensure that the switch base isn't working loose or the harness is pinched/damaged.

The relays don't have tipover function.
